had a great time last year and will make it again this year.will there be a sign up spot in chilliwack or will we have to go into abby?

We will have just the one sign up station located in Abby at Reaction Fly & Tackle, it is only a short distance from Chilliwack so hopefully won't be too much of a bother for most people... I think it is very cool that Reaction is helping us out and it gives everybody a chance to pick up any last minute tackle they may need  :)

So far it looks like we have quite a few non fishermen/women that will be able to volunteer their time in order to make this run smoothly, so all you need to do is get to the river and catch a nice Steelie  ;D ;D look forward to seeing you there !!

Hey Rick, I,m the only one to vote no as I have previous plans for that weekend. Let me know when you'll be out here in Chilliwack and I'll donate 5 packages of spinners ( 8 to a pack -  2 red, 2 gold, 2 blue and 2 green)
That would be great , I may be out there this Sunday... probably only going as far as Abby though... I will let you know the next time I am in Chilly !!

Had a good time at the derby last year but Reaction is a little out of the way for people coming from this end of the valley.

Had a good time at the derby last year but Reaction is a little out of the way for people coming from this end of the valley.

The drive to Reaction is not more than fifteen minutes from Chilliwack on a bad day, alot of people that are taking place in this derby are travelling from North Van, Burnaby, Vancouver etc... please remember that I am running this Derby and unfortunately I do not have the ability to be in two places at once, I think it is reasonable to have Reaction as a starting point for everybody... if you can't make it because of this reason then that is too bad..... I do however hope you make the drive
cheers TH

On another note I am thinking of getting hats made for this event, my company is willing to foot half of the bill so that everybody that enters will get a Derby hat !!! the entry fee will have to go up $5 as a result but I think it would be a cool idea.... let me know what you think, is it worth an extra $5 to get a nice quality derby hat that can be a keepsake???

Hey Rick.

The hat idea sounds pretty good. All that for only $5 more I am in. Did you manage to pick up the prize I left at reaction yet.

Also just a reminder to everyone that Hatch Matchers is having their ladies day on Sunday Dec 2nd. There will be some really nice door prizes from pontoon boat, sage fly rod package to gift certificate worth $150.

Hey Rick,i think hats are not a bad idea i ve got quite a collection of hats so why not one more,Just a couple of things to think about though, with the final numbers of people attending the derby not known until derby day it will be just guess work on how many hats to have made and you may not have enough or possibly to many, maybe you could get enough hats made to give out to the winners of the derby and a few for draw prizes ,still charge 25 bucks to pay for the hats and what is left over ,if any ,donate it to the the finall total for the fundraiser.i don't know were you will be ordering the hats from but in most cases it takes up to two weeks from the time of your order to have the hats made up,which ends up in more guessing on the numbers required.

I am thinking of getting a hat made that could be used for years to come, in other words not putting any dates or numbers on it lol, this way if there are too many I can save them for next year.... I get the hats made through my company, that is a big part of what we do... I can get them to the embroiderer and finished in about three days , so I should be able to wait right until the final week to get a head count

Nosey is coming from Hope I think, so I can see why he wouldn't want to drive to Whatcom then back to the Vedder. Perhaps someone local (Chris? ;) ) can register a few local individuals at Lickman Timmy's and hand the information and money to Rick later on? Just a suggestion. :)

In that case I would have no problem with Nosey and anyone else in the same situation paying and registering at the weigh in, as long as I can get a verbal commitment beforhand :)

I am in as well
my company "High Tide Hunter Fishing adventures" will donate a high end  centerpin blank...... and the other half of my business "Allwaysfishin Custom Rod Building" will donate free labour to go with this blank.

the winner of last years "free rod build labour" has not cashed in on his prize...... don't even remember who it was..... so this year I'll put up a blank and the labour to build it.
I'm a one man operation...... let's see the lower mainlands tackle shops STEP UP TO THE PLATE

Trophy hunter.... can you please email me at "allwaysfishin@hotmail.com" so we can talk about how i can get prize donations to you.
thanx
Thomas
