Not complaining just reporting how the day went.

The Allouette and Stave had decent numbers of chum but it does seem that anything East of these systems where low. I have herd from a guide that there was alot of netting going on for chum in and around the Chilliwack area on the fraser with big refridgeration  trucks being loaded up. So maybe this is where the chum have gone  >:( . And of course springs and what ever else got caught in the net.

I've fished both the Chehalis and Vedder consistently over the last 15 years. Not seeing Chums in the Chehalis at this time of the year is not a good sign. Normally, you can see them rising everywhere. Today, at the campground, I did not see a single chum after fishing it for at least 2 hours.

This is indeed a strange year for the Chums!!!

I was just noticing the same thing today as well. I assume that this is because of the 2003 floods rather than any netting.  :-[

I was at the lower Vedder today from 7-10:30 and there are tons of chum around. I was fishing with blades exclusively and still couldn't keep them off... had around 8 on in the time I was there. Also hooked into 3 coho and managed to land a nice medium sized hatchery that had just a tinge of purple on her, but was in very, very good shape. It was an awesome morning with very few people fishing and the water was great.

Please start a new topic in general discussion if we are to discuss the returns of chinook and chum salmon, or discuss it at an existing thread:
