Ah Yes I've seen that someplace maybe Nikka.

It's marketed here as a spoon replacement or something like that.

local distributors carry this hook and any tackle store in BC can get them. Sizes #1-4/0 are in stock right now. All you have to do is ask your favorite shop to bring some in for you.

I have been looking for a barbless Mustad hook that has been probably been discontinued a few years ago. I saw flies made with them they had a unique curved in bend in the wire below the point replacing the barb .Searching for these for a long time. Its the Mustad 3257B.So far most lakes except for a few specified ones allow barbed hooks to be used.Id like to get some small Mustad 3257B for flies.Currantly using VMC 7356Bn Shure set -Live bait, barb crushed but the smallest are size 4.How well do the Gamakatsu 501 keep the fish hooked on as barbless?I dont like barbless Eagle claw circle hooks Yuk.All this technology and nobody  can make a better mousetrap yet!Like to get those Mustad 3257B because all my nice flies will be rendered useless for catching fish if debarbed.Hope the Big Brother never gets too sticky in the lakes as it is with all river fishing now.

If you keep tension on the line while battling a fish you shouldn't have a problem with landing fish. With a barbed hook you need a stronger hookset to drive the hook in past the barb.

I have been interested in getting hold of the discontinued Mustad 3257B or the simular Partridge Roman Moser CS27GRS fly hooks with these interesting unique characteristic ,an  inward elbowish bend in the wire just before the point. This would allow the fish to stay on the hook without throwing it off too easily also allow you to remove the hook from the fish with little damage. It is in fact barbless. It may not be to everyones likeing that the bumb may hamper the setting of the hook acording to some people but Ive heard some people said they had no problem with these hooks.Iwould like to try these and see for myself ,they look very interesting. It may be of some interest that there is these teflon coated barbless carp hooks called the Fox Armapoint SSBP size 4 to 10.The slippery teflon coating would allow very fast penetrating strikes. Also theres a very deep setting chzeckoslovakian fly hook the Knapek barbless .
