Yummy yummy sashimi tonight. 

Nice fish but do yourself a favour; do not eat raw fish from freshwater no matter how briefly they have been in the water.

Do what the best sushi places do - deep freeze fresh fish for at least a couple of days to kill any parasites and then eat as sashimi.

You can avoid a hospital visit that way.

Wow, thanks for the illustration and the caution. But no sashimi for me until frozen 4+ days. It is just a figurative statement of excitement in the post ;D.

Saying that, I do hear about Japanese eating their catch raw, so are folks in HK & even a Samoan telling me that they eat their catch raw lots of time for instant sashimi. But I guess our fish go through all these 'bad waters' before we can catch them in the river, so the caution is a good idea. Thanks.
