I think the plan is to fatten up the Otter in Lafarge.
I believe its not an Otter but a Beaver (but i could be wrong)
If you take a look around the lake you will see the felled trees that are done by a Beavers teeth

Find Deer & Hicks on the website, they have already been done this spring with sterile cutthroat...

A river is never quite silent; it can never, of its very nature, be quite still; it is never quite the same from one day to the next. It has its own life and its own beauty, and the creatures it nourishes are alive and beautiful also. Perhaps fishing is only an excuse to be near rivers. - Haig-Brown

Just got into fly fishing a year ago. Anyone have any suggestions on fly patterns to try at rice lake? I have only fished for them with gear there before. :)

SEPTEMBER 30TH 2008'S RAINBOW TROUT STOCKINGS

Lake name           Number of fish

Average weight of these fish is 192 grams.

OCTOBER 2ND 2008'S RAINBOW TROUT STOCKINGS

Lake name           Number of fish
Rolley700
Whonnock300
Sasamat700

Average weight of these fish is 195 grams.

OCTOBER 8TH 2008'S RAINBOW TROUT STOCKINGS

Lake name           Number of fish
Mike550
Errock300
Grace500
Browning400

Average weight of these fish is 213 grams.

Here is the explanation by the hatchery on the smaller trout in fall stockings.

Quote
The fish are averaging just under 200 grams which is smaller than the spring releases. We are not able to get our fish to size as easily for the fall. We want to try and get the fish in as early in the fall as possible but we also recognize the desire for the fish to be of reasonable size. 200 grams is our target for this year and we are now at it. Unfortunately, we are late in getting the fish out. The next round of stocking in later October will see fish over 200 grams but unlikely we will see any reach 300 as in the spring.

We do have a tentative plan to have larger fish for next fall. We are hoping to over summer some fish from the 2008 production  year (at Chehalis) through to next fall (2009). These fish will be quite large (400 + grams) and we will hopefully be able to start stocking in mid September (water temp dependant) to try and give people a longer fall fishing season.

The last batch of fish for 2008 will be stocked during this coming week. Lakes that are scheduled to be stocked are Buntzen, Rolley, Sasamat, Whonnock, Rice, Como, Browning, Green Timbers and Lafarge. Beside rainbow trout at catchable size (250g), Lafarge will also be stocked with 200 brood fish that weigh 1.5kg each. I will have the numbers available on the days when stockings take place.

Why bother stocking Lafarge anymore? Should it not be given the rotenone treatment to remove the bass before it is re stocked?
