Why bother stocking Lafarge anymore? Should it not be given the rotenone treatment to remove the bass before it is re stocked?
since when has lafarge had bass in it  ? You must be joking

When Lafarge Lake was sampled overnight with a net by the Ministry of Environment a month ago, a small largemouth bass was found. One largemouth bass found does not mean ceasing of stocking and the trout fishery, but monitor with caution. If an established population is determined, then the option of rotenone treatment may come into play, which is very expensive.

Rotenone is a piscicidal toxin, which would kill all the fish in a waterbody but spare the lives of other organisms.

I hear you Troutbreath. I mean they used to dump 1500 fish in Green Timbers every spring, now we get like 500 maybe  ::) its pathetic because so many people take more then they are allowed and all the stocked fish are basically gone in a week or two  >:( I like this little lake for some C&R and relaxation but i mean jeesh i dont wanna go there just for casting practice LOL

Size of the city does not dictate the amount of fish being stocked. Usage by anglers does.

The amount of fish being stocked is determined by several factors - Size of the lake, time of the year, harvest pressure (determined by creel survey and lake stock sampling).

its pathetic because so many people take more then they are allowed and all the stocked fish are basically gone in a week or two  >:(

If witnessing these acts, 1-877-952-RAPP (7277).

If speculating, then they're simply speculations.

Going to be a gong show there on the weekend. Fist to cuffs over casting turf. :) Good thing they didn't let those chowder hounds loose in Surrey or there would be a gun battle!
