Unusual Sturgeon baits that worked
« on: March 28, 2008, 12:35:05 PM »

What's your's???

Last weekend I brought out some Steelhead guts and spine and fins to dispose of.
Decided to put some it on the hook and got a couple bites and a 4fter on it.
Was reasonably fresh bait and worked :)
Rando.....newbie to this site, but sure a few of you know me.

Heard of the crayfish, but never tried squid.
Did it work on a regular basis?
Bet they would stay on the hook for awhile.

I've used squid too. I've also heard of sardines.

Squid

I tried Squid one time and it didn't work I think because I brined it. ::)

Fresh frozen Squid is cheap though so no doubt it's worth trying again.

Not sure about the squid thing.
I tend to stick to the standards like roe, oolie, fish parts, and eels and such.
But might try it to satisfy my curiousity.
Hey,I'll try anything once, you never know.
Surprised nobody's said chicken yet :D

kalamari(squid), roe, or balls of deweys we use in the interior where fin fish is not allowed.  Have heard of others who use chicken gizzards cured in garlic brine for days.....but not for me.

Does it not have to be cut in half or something to be legal?
