Garry Point, May 6th 2008
« on: May 06, 2008, 02:22:35 PM »

Fished for an hour last night right before sunset.  Saw ALOT of fry swirlies all over. Didn't go too hard as I had the wife with me but I had a few nice hard strikes.

The tides are prime right now for after work casts.

Good Luck

Water clarity must be very poor right now? Or did the incoming tide give you at least a couple of inches of visibility?

There should be northern pikeminnow and some bull trout, even cutthroat trout around. :)

No fry around today, or even smelts, the only thing that the smelt netters were catching were chubs,

Yeah water clarity was very poor, I started with a Kroc and got no bites then switched to a gold Panther Martin which worked better. I casted into the swirls and pulled it back slowly.

Some beaches are have pretty good visabilty right now if the wind isn't blowing. I've had a good feast of large crab tonight. The flounders are jumping right out of the water when you get these real low tides like this week. Good time for surf castin for them if crab ain't your bag.

No joy for me today-a hard wind meant going to Pajo's for a late lunch-very tasty it was too! ;D
