Watch Lake (Caribou)
« on: June 22, 2008, 10:10:28 PM »

My friend has a cabbin there and we will be heading up on friday and I was wondering if any one has any helpful information for gear and location to get success on this lake? (fly fishing, gear fishing and a boat)

We've had good success at Watch Lake in past years (around this time). I typically troll flies dead slow, but if you get the right weather conditions Watch Lake has some fairly good hatches so casting would probably work well too. I've seen many fish caught there on hardware as well. Lots of people troll with gang trolls and worms and seem to have success. I normally fish the south side. Here's one from last year, weighed in at just over 3 lbs caught on a half-back.

I'll be up in the area this weekend too, hope to fish Watch on Sunday and Jim Lake on Monday.

Camman Not a subscriber so can't reply to your pm.....I just went into my local tackle shop and said" I'm headed to Watch Lake, what kind of flies should I use?" Bought what they recommended and was happy with the results.
