What Party *should* you vote for...
« on: September 18, 2008, 03:59:25 PM »

http://www.theundecided.ca/

The Undecided is an online tool that helps your sort through complex campaign platforms to find which party best represents your views.

This tool is great - after you are done, you can go back in to each topic to see which party sits on what sides of major issues...

Said I should vote NDP. Also noticed that this is from a previous election. Lots of the dates are before the set election date, and the time is down to 0.

Neat tool, but I couldn't figure out who supports it.  Is it a non partisan site?  Anyone have any insight on whether this tool is accurate?
Just curious.

I believe they are taking news clips of what electoral candidates have said they will do if elected... I recognize the pine beetle comment for example...

I believe this tool is non-partisan - which is good to have neutral ground...

Dion I noticed some of it wasn't working as well, maybe it's still in progress of being revamped? I had some suprising results...

I guess you can call me undecided. Some of my views coincide with the Liberals, some Conservatives, NDP and Greens.

Heh, nope, I've been anti Reform/Alliance/Conservative my entire voting life... I used to vote liberal just to keep the cons out, but with the last election, I was fed up and decided to stop voting strategically, and just vote with who I agreed with.

My choices actually came out mostly green in the test, with a few NDP choices thrown in... My riding is always a landslide NDP win, so there is not much I can do about that... Libby Davies will win for sure...

I'm voting green just to put some more dollars in their account. Anyone willing to reform DFO and rid my province of fish farms gets my vote...

Cheers,
Nicole

This exercise apparently has me leaning toward the NDP :o.

The problem I have with parties that have no chance in #$LL of getting in power is they make promises that they could never keep if elected. And if they did get in power and implemented their socialist agenda they would run the country into the ground! Everyone of us wants all of the free social benefits and the green agenda but if you tax the big wage earners and the successful corporations in order to pay for these things, they can and will leave the country and then who will pay for the programs. This survey may be neutral but it doesn't consider that promises from peripheral parties are just that..... hollow promises.

I'll be voting for the pussy cat!! ..... and whoever is holding it

Well the greens have been in power since the 80s in Germany - The country seemed to be okay when I was there last...

Greens are on the rise in Europe... Portugal, Spain, France, UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Czech, Austria, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, and Latvia all have members elected in parliaments right now...

I am from Switzerland and can assure you that since the Liberals and the Hippies entered government Switzerland has for the first time in its 800 year history a deficit in the budget. You see for 800 years the Conservatives run the country and they use to run it like a business not like a charity.

That meant that special interest groups had to find their won money, rather than get it thrown at them from the tax coffers. Criminals were forced to work so they could pay their keep in prison, pay their and the victims legal fees. Drug addicts were sent to forced rehabilitation and to pay for it they had to work in a chain gang. Teenage mothers with a gaggle of children each by a different father had their children taken away and got the snip. Unemployed were given a job they had to take even if that meant that a lawyer had to seep the streets, there was no such thing as “that is below my education”.

Then along came the Liberals and recycled hippies and found that this all way to harsh that the government should pay for everything. Now what we see is that people pay taxes till their back breaks, one job per household will not pay all the bills anymore. Old folks have to go to an asylum because keeping even just a small apartment is far beyond their financial means. The newest craze coming down the pipe now is that the Greens and Liberals want to introduce gun control and stop the army from letting soldiers take assault rifles home.

It’s more or less the same in every European country. Of course you have to live there to see it, not just visit as a tourist. It’s interesting that at a time when Chinese and Russians fight hard to abolish communism we here in the so called free world invite communism with open arms and demand of our government ever more freedom restricting laws.

People who love freedom and are true patriots and are against the government wasting money left, right and center vote Conservative.

I am from Switzerland and can assure you that since the Liberals and the Hippies entered government Switzerland has for the first time in its 800 year history a massive deficit in the budget. You see for 800 years the Conservatives run the country and they use to run it like a business not like a charity, making huge surplus. Swizerland then was one of the wealthiest nations in the world and everybody had money to spend and a saml tax to pay.

That meant that special interest groups had to find their own money, rather than get it thrown at them from the tax coffers. Criminals were forced to work so they could pay their keep in prison, pay their and the victims legal fees. Drug addicts were sent to forced rehabilitation and to pay for it they had to work in a chain gang. Unemployed were given a job they had to take even if that meant that a lawyer had to seep the streets, there was no such thing as “that is below my education”. Nobody had special rights then, not the tenage crminal, not the gays or the pregnant tenagers and anybody else that today thinks their entitled to special financial bonuses and handouts.
