Fraser River Fort Langley, October 27th 2008

tried a few spinners to tempt coho.no luck didnt epect any i wasnt there long but the break from life was nice. saw a few boats with success.its hard to get a break from the kids to fish at 22 and 4 months its gonna be a while too ::) good luck to the rest of you. im trying to move to chilliwack to get at the vedder more!!! lol

There are a few guys getting coho on bar rigs and roe in the morning. I fished beside 1 guy at Derby Reach 2 weekends ago and I helped him release a beauty 12lb wild coho. He told me that it was his 32nd wild coho this year in Fort Langley. He also figured that the hatcheries aren't clipping the fish because he hasn't cought a hatchery coho there in 3 years. I'm not sure I agree with that but he's entitled to his opinion

Went to the Chilliwack/Vedder hatchery last week to see all the fish there. Lots of chum, coho amd the odd spring. I took a close look at the coho and saw only one unclipped fish among hundreds of clipped fish.  This compares to roughly 50/50 clipped versus unclipeed cohos I've seen caught in the river. So I would say that the Chilliwack hatchery, at least, definitely clips all their hatchery fish.
