i'm looking for a free program to convert avi to dvd. anyone help me out?

Another computer question, I bought a firewire cord for my camcord and the wires cant connect through the usb port. The one end fits perfect in the camcord, but like I said the other end wont connect into the computer usb port. Did I buy the wrong cord, or do I have to purchase another component for my computer before I can connect?

Firewire is an entirely different standard from USB - so it's a good thing that the cables are different  ;D
In order to connect your camcorder to your PC you need a firewire port on your PC.
If your PC does not have a firewire port you will need an adapter, such as this:
