Reiber, I don;t think the rods are left behind because of a move away from BB ing but rather a lack of an opening.  As far as I know BB ing is quite appropriate on the Fraser. Heavier rods are also great for bar fishing.

that 8-15lb rating is huge, there are so many rods out there with that line rating and totally different actions, some are meat sticks and others total noodles, it depends on the company,graphite and construction of the blank
