Update from Stealth Floats!
« on: November 13, 2008, 04:56:02 PM »

Just a word to keep everyone up to date, as some may know my primary job is a guide on the Fraser river and this season I was fortunate to be extremely busy, but because of this my attention to Stealth has suffered. Last December we introduced our new Traditional Series floats. These new floats are available in two sizes, a 23 gram and a 28 gram. The Traditional series floats are a substantial upgrade from our original design and after a full year on the market and after some extensive field testing I can say that these are the toughest, best fishing clear floats on the market today. Stealth  floats are available at most tackle stores in the lower mainland and also at several locations on Vancouver Island and in Northern B.C. Check here for a location near you http://www.stealthfishing.com/dealers/ The Traditional Series floats are still only $3.99 and this includes the float collars. Last Steelhead season I fished all season with only 2 floats and I only had to replace the first one after loosing it to a snag when my main line broke above the float. I also frequently fish in pocket water in boulder gardens so my floats do take a serious beating. If you haven't tried our Stealth Traditional series floats give them a go I think you will be impressed how well they fish. Have a great steelhead season everyone, I know I am looking forward to it as this is when I get to do some fishing for me finally!

Fish on!

I too used them last Steelhead season and i do like them.
The new ones dont leak and the fish love em.
Had more than one Steelhead try and take the darn float last year. :o ;D

Good luck with the float business and hope to see a smaller  version one day.
Not everyone fishes the Vedder ya know Steve. ;)

I have also had a number of steelhead try to eat my float over the years, it is always exciting!

BTW smaller sizes are on the drawing board but the wheels of progress unfortunately turn slowly.
Sooner or later we will get some small sizes on the market!

Hello Spoonman

Currently we have no plans for tinted floats as we feel that the clear floats will adapt best to any river water colour conditions.

last season I took several pictures of the floats from under water (a fish eye view) I did this during different water and weather conditions and the floats blended in very very well. I didn't see any blue color? maybe you held you head under water too long and you were hallucinating due to lack of of oxygen ;) ;D  I hate it when that happens!

Hello Adriaticum

I can say with certainty that you did not break six of the new floats (Traditional series), how ever we did have problems with our original design some batches were good and some were not. let me know where and when you purchased them and I will take care of you.

if u made the traditionals in the original size i'd like them alot better, i find the longer float to track better in the water. I bought a bunch (20) when they came out, i still have 3

Too bad  :(  Could be you are missing out on a larger market share.Or is the cost too prohibitive ???

It's what the fish see or don't see that is important, not the angler.

Any angler who know what he is doing does NOT need "High Tech" floats. As the ING person says-- "Save your money!!!

Dink floats work as well now as they did when they were all the rage many years ago..

Harsh much. If you have something that negative to say, I would suggest you not post at all! It's his business man  :-\. A better approach would to suggest something to Stealth, rather then make a comment like that.
