It would be far from my first choice if I wanted to catch one...  Vedder has the biggest run in the lower mainland.

I agree with jonny 5. I looked at return rates for local steams and rivers and the vedder and chalis (poor spelling ) would be my top and only pick.

It's a very small returning number from what I've heard.

I've asked at the hatchery and they told me that no steelhead return to the Suicide. I think they do broodstock for other systems but not the Norrish. I know they do coho for other systems.

Just got back from walking the dog down at norish and the water is with in 2 ft of the bridges, it isn't going to be fishable for a while either.

i dont expect to many systems to be fishable for atleast a week in time. From wat i researched in the fall on norrish, the only steelhead it would recieve would be strays from other systems.

Stray steelhead from somewhere else? Where did you get that info from?

Norrish hatchery does produce steelhead for other systems AND they do receive a small  run of winters as well.

February being the best time in my experience.  Catch them every year without fail. 8 in one afternoon.

Not strays. Whatever info you read Youngun is wrong.  :)

I dug up some stats on the Norrish, apparently it has a very small run of wild winter fish. Looks like they did stockings in 90-92, not sure why they stopped?

Why don't they stock the Norrish? They have a good run of Coho and a hatchery on the system to boot. It would make sense to stock the system with steelhead.

Maybe they don't want to mix hatchery fish in with the current tiny wild run? That system is so small and pressured already I don't see why it would need it.
