Was out at first light today up at the top.  Water was super clear although there were no fish to be found.  Not too many anglers up there which was nice.  Came down to the lower river below the crossing around 9:30 and the visibility was about 2 feet.  Seems a bit more cloudy than it was a week ago.  Fished for a few hours, making my way down from the crossing almost to peach, but could not find the fish (or else they didn't like what I had to offer).  Didn't see anyone else get anything either.  I sure hope some big schools will be coming into the system soon.

 Today was a good day for me. Woke up at 7:00 got to the river around 9:00 landed a 10 pld hatchery around 9:30 Let it go though (wanted to fish more)  Took a drive to the store to get a drink went back and lost another one. My first multi fish day!

Good for you cohokiller!  Man, I've been dry for a long time now...  I totally would have kept that fish.

I only spent an hour there with only 2 presentations.  I gotta get on the roe-bag train!

I only caught 1 fish from like dec.15-Jan29. From Jan 30-Now i am 2/4 I started using lots of roe bags and started using those $7 drennan piker float and $5 balsa. Dont know if it makes a diff but I think it does.

piker style floats sink easier so they do help because they work way better then dink floats

Puting your bait in front of the fish is far more important than than spending 5-7 dollars on a float.

very true GLX but i still like how u get a better drift with the DNE balsa's, short and fat. None the less u could be fishing a dink, rusted hooks and old roe, and hook more fish any anyone else.

Good job CK, great to hear you had some success. I did that last year at the boulder run, caught a chrome hatchery hen after only ten minutes fishing so I released it so's I could fish some. But alas, no more deep swims for my float. Scott, thats funny, gotta get on the roe bag train. Had me laughing. Good Fishing All.

Right on. Having the world's most expensive float won't catch you any more fish if you're fishing the wrong water.

but having the worlds best gear and bait and fishing the right water will clean house. Glass is half full!

we all know that your float has nothing to do with fish catching ability nor does having the fanciest gear possible however i have found i hook more fish since i switched over to the piker style floats because you can detect the tiniest of bites better then you can with dinks  I have hooked more this year that i felt before they even took the float under

you guys keep buying the expensive floats for us scavengers, i have found that all work well, and the free ones work the best!

You'll only get the DNE foamies floating down river from me.They're great.Frosted flakes are too.
