15 years ago people looked down on me when I was targetting pinks.
glad to see this fishery accepted now.

Who doesn't love the arrival of the pinks? I'm hoping my 3 year old daughter will hook her first salmon this year!

Love pinks... when they are fresh they are actually pretty good for smoking.
There are so many that it is not hard to hook a good fighting fish every cast for a few weeks.
This is how I got alot of my friends into fishing in the first place.
Can't wait to fly-fish for them this year!

So many? Not nearly as many as their was. In 2007 it was not that great at all infact. Some days you got your limit and some days you got nothing. In 2003 I remember every outing getting into 20-30 fish in a few hours. They like the rest of the Pacific Salmon have been on a steady decline each year.

Last year I did very, very well  ???
It is true though, because in some areas I would not hit any but every day I went to one spot they were absolutley stacked.
2007 was a bad year for me period though, hardley any springs, not many coho (except late in the year) and yes pinks weren't all that high.

I've been finding it harder to hook fish altogether these past 3-4 years.
This year a few days felt like I was Steelhead fishing, walking long parts of the river for 1 or 2 fish in a day.
Some days (this year) I was into 20-30 springs, some I was into 2 or less, I think it has a lot to do with the 1000's on the vedder as well as declining stocks.
Most days the fish are there, but they are too spooked by ripping to take anything, my best days were in side channels.
