Me and a couple friends went tubing yesterday from Osbourne Road down to the Crossing.
Things went smoothly as planned for the first 20 or so mins then it all went downhill.
First, for the first time in 4 years of tubing we had a tube pop, so 2 of us had to double up in a tube.
While doubled up in the tube we decided that it would be a cool picture, so I unclipped my camera and handed it to my girlfriend to take pictures... guess what happens next.
Since there were 2 of us in the tube we could not manuver as well as normal and got too close to shore and ended up hitting some branches, which knocked my camera off my lap and into the river.
The rest of the trip went very well, but the fact I lost a $400 camera kind of ruined my day anyways.
If anyone finds a blue/silver Olympus Stylus Tough floating down the river (more like rolling along the bottom) it would be great to get it back. I would be willing to give the person $ for the return of it. We were going to go tubing today again to try and spot it as it shines very bright. I figure that it will most likely be a fisherperson that finds it. It was lost between Pointa Vista Cafe and Wilson Road (about halfway between where the river runs beside the road). I dont know how far it would travel before finding a spot in between some rocks because it is quite heavy, but I guess this is my best chance anyways.
Thanks.
Dan.
