Spoke to Fisheries and Oceans Canada this morning re: chinook salmon. Tidal and Non-tidal Fraser River chinook salmon opening is extended to December 31st, but adult minimum size is moved from 50cm to 62cm.

Aggasiz to Hope remains closed for salmon fishing.

Yesterday was no action at all.  I talked to one guy who was fishing from noon to 8:30 pm at various spots in the South Arm.  He saw a few risers, but no bite.  I'm going to try after work today.

Hi,

I was at garry point south arm today at near the marker. At about 2pm, a small school of pinks swam by. Pinks jumping 3 feet away from where i was casting on the rocks. Then a seal showed up.
It was about 1 hour of total activity.  Where I was fishing about 6 other people were fishing in the vicinity. I used a spoon and spinner. No hook ups. None of the other guys got anything too. Was pretty frustrating at the time.

to be honest I'm still learning about tides. Until recently i have spent all of my time in non tidal waters.

While i was fishing, and caught mine and witnessed the others caught,  i belive it would of been pretty much low tide, but the tide was still on its way out. Hope that helps

From what I've been told, when they are on the move, they're not really looking to eat.  When they're sitting and waiting, they get aggressive with the food.  Which isn't to say that they won't bite on the move, just less likely.  Which begs the question, do we want it to rain alot?  I would think not, as this just moves them along.  So I'm guessing when they're moving you need to get the offering right in their face and slack to 2 hours after would be best???

Was out all day today, tried various spots around south arm and north arm, fished low tide and the high tide, saw a few rollers and stragglers, nothing in mass amounts though :-[ Got royally skunked, other than a giant pike minnow  :o will be out again tomorrow.
