Thank you guys and ladies for all the great information existing on this forum, and also for Rodney for the great tutorials he puts up. It really did made a difference!
This is the first year that I went out to the Fraser and actually know what and how I'm supposed to do. I was out from 3pm - 5pm and managed to catch 3 pinks all over 50cm. These are the largest fishes I've ever caught. It was amazing to see all the fishes that jump and move up stream.

I had one hooked only after 10min , but I was not prepared for it at all, first I thought I snagged a rock and then the rock came alive.  :o
Needless to say that I lost that one but after that I got 3 other.

Thank you!!!

Or you can use one of Rodney's special spoons.  Have seen him catch fish many times while others were getting skunked.  He did have some advertise for sale a while back.

Have a great day

Do I just keep missing them or something?  I'm fishing around the mitchell island area, but for two days now, not a single fish in sight.  Was out from 6-7 both days.  I think I may be just missing the incoming tide?  Or is it just more heavy down south?
it's a hit and miss fishery, tomorrow might be the day they all swing by your spot...its still early yet....

First time out for pinks this season.  Went to Alex Fraser bridge around 3 pm saw lots of jumps and saw one caught in half hour.  Had to leave, something came up.  :'( Went to No. 6 5-7pm.  Lots of people only 2 fish caught, one was mine.  It was very awesome hooking my first pink. Have fun :D

If a pink salmon run starts near Steveston in Richmond, where can we expect the school to be on the following day 24 hours later? In other words, on average, how far can they swim in a day if they start in Steveston given good conditions?

Anyone else notice alot more males than females being caught so far?
I'd say about 80% males out of the 20-25 fish I've seen landed.

Yes I would agree based on my observations. Every pink I have seen caight this year by or around me has been male. Wierd, luck of the draw or maybe the males are more aggresive biters right now, I'm not sure.

I read that the males tend to come before the females....atleast for sockeye...and this was from a fish biologist from Washington State.

If the fish come in with an incoming tide, then the best fishing time would be during an oceanic high tide? Is there any websites anyone knows of that have Fraser River Tide tables?

Fished the high tide this morning in Richmond.
LOTS of fish moving through.  Jumping, porpoising, etc.
First 4 casts, fish ON!  Action was pretty steady the 2 hours I was out.

There is approximately a 3 hr difference to mission bridge from High Tide at Point Atkinson and 3.5 to Chilliwack and about 4 hrs to Hope.  Closer to the mouth the Hight tide does not differ much.  I just use the Point Atkinson tide chart to get an approximate time which is good enough.
