Yeah, the pinks are here. After three trips shunked, landed two and lost another 6 during the fights this morning from 6:30AM to 8:00AM at Surrey. When the school is coming, Just one cast one fish on. This long weekend will be busy fishing the pinks.

Anyone else notice alot more males than females being caught so far?
I'd say about 80% males out of the 20-25 fish I've seen landed.

From page 7 of this thread:

"Sex ratios in pink salmon populations tend to fluctuate considerably throughout the spawning season. A predominance of males is characteristic among the fish first entering the stream and those first occupying the spawning grounds. As the season progresses, the proportion of females entering the stream and on the spawning beds increases. During the main part of the run the sex ratio tends to be close to 1:1, and towards the end of the run there are usually more females than males"

man look at the lice on anal fin on that thing wow there is no sea live problem at all is there

Just as an FYI, sea lice on adult fish is common and not an issue.  I've been catching salmon with sea lice on them for years and years.  That said, sea lice ARE an issue for the outgoing smolts, I agree with you.

Yeah I can remember fishing as a kid and having 3x that on some of the sockeye caught off the WCVI.

Does anyone know if there is a gate at derby reach in langley? If so, when is it open? I can't for the life of me remember if there is a gate or not.

In Delta, I have had luck about an hour after Low Tide. 2 Yesterday and 3 Today.  ;D
Lost a bunch though. Not to mention about 12 lures. :(
