Just got back from a day in the canoe between Poplar and Duncan bars - great day with the family and friends and a zillion pinks that jumped up to say hi! - on the way back, pretty much smack in the middle between the two, on a sand bar about
maybe 10 feet from the trees on the Fraser Island Regional Park Island, Someone had lit a fire, drunk a ton of beers and roasted wieners (the wrappers and beer cans and bottles were littered all around the fire site). BUT I would like to leave a message to the IDIOT that left their fire burning and his DIMWITTED JERK friends - THIS is how forest fires start and how we LOSE PRIVLAGES TO PARKS for fishing and recreation.
So, losers, You owe my wife, son and myself a half hour to pull over our canoes, clean up your mess and put out your fire. I only wish I saw the JERK'S BOAT - DFO, RCMP and FIRE DEPT would have got some calls and video of the offenders. I've seen a lot of people pollute over the years, but this one takes the cake - I assume they can't read so they wouldn't have read the papers in the past few weeks and probably don't watch things like the news to see the fires and the bans and the warnings... well, if they read this, PLEASE DON'T DO THAT AGAIN!
