Dump bar 12:15 - 2:45 today. Not a single pink showed itself. A few sockeye on occasion showed.

So based on Rod's take on things, they pinks have started coming in large numbers starting Sept 2 this year.  When do you guys think the fishing will be hot till?

I was out @ Fraser bridge from 1300-1500, it was low tide so i didn't really expected to catch anything.
There were about 25 other ppl fishing, as far i could see not one got a fish, or a bite.
The only person got fish was an older Asian gentleman, and he was fishing for small fish that looked to me like Peamouth chubs or Pikeminnow.

First time targeting pinks on the Fraser. I had 9 hits and was able to land 3 on my 3lb main trout rod, so much fun. I wish i had know more about this before.

Stopped by peg today for a bit. Got into a few, kept one. I was throwing spoons but brought a bar rod to set out for my daughter. After a bit i casted it out for her and put it in the holder. I didnt really expect it to work on pinks becasue just used the large chinook rig that i already had on it. Sure enough i went back to casting and looked over and she had a fish on in less than five minutes.

I met another user from this site while fishing there. I can't remember your user name but think your name was Cam? Nice to meet you, if you want some tips on fishing the vedder for salmon this year like you mentioned, let me know.

Just got back from a day in the canoe between Poplar and Duncan bars - great day with the family and friends and a zillion pinks that jumped up to say hi! - on the way back, pretty much smack in the middle between the two, on a sand bar about maybe 10 feet from the trees on the Fraser Island Regional Park Island, Someone had lit a fire, drunk a ton of beers and roasted wieners (the wrappers and beer cans and bottles were littered all around the fire site).  BUT I would like to leave a message to the IDIOT that left their fire burning and his DIMWITTED JERK friends - THIS is how forest fires start and how we LOSE PRIVLAGES TO PARKS for fishing and recreation.

So, losers, You owe my wife, son and myself a half hour to pull over our canoes, clean up your mess and put out your fire.  I only wish I saw the JERK'S BOAT - DFO, RCMP and FIRE DEPT would have got some calls and video of the offenders.  I've seen a lot of people pollute over the years, but this one takes the cake - I assume they can't read so they wouldn't have read the papers in the past few weeks and probably don't watch things like the news to see the fires and the bans and the warnings...  well, if they read this, PLEASE DON'T DO THAT AGAIN!  :'(

Yous did a good act by putting out the camp fire & cleaning up the site. This world will always have the wise & the unwise. Good thing we had heavy rains for 2 days as it prevented this camp fire from becoming a major fire.  Seen that display as well many times in the last 2 wks of 1000's & 1000's of pinks jumping...finning etc... quite a sight to see!!!!!!!!  Seen some trying to foul hook pinks as they were really jerking their rods...(foul hooking a fish is not in my playbook) that's not cool. 8)
