So all last week I was fishing the east side of the Mission bridge. I had the entire area all to myself the entire week. Everyone was fishing on the west side. I had a couple good days there as they were coming in 5 feet from shore. Well tonight I decide to take the family down there. When I get there its a total gong show. People were lined up shoulder to shoulder on the east side. What the heck happened? I have no clue how it goes from nobody to everyone. Oh well I guess it was fun while it lasted and time to move on to another spot that void of people. Man I miss my boat :(

Fished the south arm again tonight, 3 hook up, bagged 1. A spring took my buzz bomb.

Was this the spot you were at?

Brian, I thought by now you would understand the powers of internet boasting of your fishing reports. If you brag on the net they will come.....and then your spot turns into a gong show.

Cheers

Nope thats non tidal waters. I was just below the CPR Bridge. No matter as now I will go somewhere else. Lots of places to go if you know where to go ;)

I live in Maple Ridge and the banks on this side of the river are very muddy, that area in Mission is sandy. Also I have noticed that the bulk of the run travels on the south side of the river. The north side doesnt get nearly as many fish.

If you were fishing below the CPR then you were fishing tidal. The CPR bridge is the fishing boundary.

However you can walk up the Matsqui Trail a ways and find solitude.

I had a similar experience last night, at Sapperton.  Normally it's ok, but last night was a gong show.

I live in Delta and fish the lower fraser from east Richmond, Delta, New Westminster, Surrey areas, and I've noticed the exact same thing...for some reason, most of the fish seem to travel along the south side of the river; any idea why this is the case?

That's where the shallow water is - Pinks like to hold in shallow, slow moving water.

If you look at every river that flows to the west (Chilliwack river included), the deep side is on the north while the shallow side is on the south.

Harrison pinks should start in about a week. You can only keep them from the Highway bridge towards the mouth of the Fraser. The fresh ones will last a week or so until it tapers off. Than the chum start rolling in.

Fished Saperton dyke yesterday morning and this morning.  Yesterday it was the best :) lots of fish were jumping and people were catching them everywhere.
This morning it was rather slow, but I still managed to land two males.
Went to chilliwack on the weekend and it was very slow.  I heard they're catching them like crazy in Fraser at the mouth of Vedder river.
Good luck.
