haha, it's just your fish is really fresh and chrome.  the ones that i get, especially the males don't look nearly as nice as what you got.  the ones that i hook are somewhat redish on the belly portion and the back being light green.  so no need to take offense dude.

I got a few hours to spare this evening for fishing. With all this rain has it affected the Frasers visability? Is it worth going out? quick response would be great

Here on Annacis Island, looking out the window I can see the Fraser is indeed dirtied up some, compared to yesterday.

what are you guys using when fishing for pinks in richmond?

Bar fishing? Or just casting off the docks with a buzzbomb?

Curious to know because I grew up in Richmond and have always wanted to move back.  I visit there atleast 2 times a week so I'd like to plan some time for fishing.

thanks

There is lot of fish in the river now, little rain like this  is not going to affect on the Fraser, if you have a chance to go don't matter on the tide go, I don't. Good lluck

If you spend some time there, (whether you time the tides or not) you are going to catch fish.
During the incoming tide, fish are still coming up the river in schools and will stop close to shore at times.

There are several types of lures that you can use.

buzzbomb - works well - change to a single hook (don't use the treble hook in the package)
spoon - curved metal lure, pink with a white stripe, also works well
spinner - pink/red body with a silver blade, have seen other people do well with this.

Just about any kind of fishing rod will do.
I've seen guy catch fish on anything from tiny trout rods to big meat sticks for halibut.

The lighter the line, (lower lb test rating) the better the cast you will get (10lb is ideal).
You need to be able to cast about 50ft.

If you can't cast a lure by itself, add a small weight 2 or 3 ft above the lure - use a swivel to hold it.
If found a very 'un-snaggy' combination is a barrel weight used with the setup above.
The barrel shaped weight doesn't seem to snag as much as the pencil weight.

Cast our, let it drop for a few seconds and slowly reel it in.

Bring a net and a cooler (with ice) and you'll have a good pink fishing experience.

Was out again today trolling from Bedford Channel to Derby Reach area (Fort Langley)...it was hot hot hot from about noon to 1:15pm (8 fish hooked, a couple in the net, all others lost within 10 feet of the boat), then the off switch must have been turned on and nothing for the next three hours...This was a repeat from my prior trip a few days ago...on a high slack tide the fishing is phenomenal, as soon as the tide starts retreating, even though you still see fish around, nothing happens...bottom line, if your in a boat and trolling, hit it about an hour before high tide...   ;D

I am new to salmon fishing, that's why sometimes the questions I ask seems to you seasoned fisherman like  ??? ??? ???
And I also included lots of smileys to show that I was joking about the tread count.
Sorry if i caused some confusion.

Now that I got educated, I am much happier to know that I got nice fresh fish.  ;D

Man, the one day I bring my dad out fishing, we get skunked.  He would always seem so interested whenever I brought the fish home and was gutting them, so I told him I'd get him a license and head out today.  Of course it's the one day where it seemed completely dead with no fish visible the entire night.

I was really hoping he'd get into one for his first outting.  :'(

That's how it usually works if you take someone with you and want them to catch something.
