I am going to be camping in golden ears this weekend, and was wondering what kind of fish are in allouette lake?  What kind of gear should I be using.  I will have a canoe, but also would like to fish from shore.

The species that are in the lake are: Kokanee, Dolly Varden, Cutthroat, Bull Trout, Rainbow Trout, Lake trout and Pike Minnows

I have had great success catching Kokanee with aLuhr Jensen 4/0 tiolling Dodger and 24"-36" behind a wedding band.
A worm and float are killer for the Pike minnows and you can hook up with rainbows as well.

I would start at the fish hatchery on the east side of the lake and work south. you have to stay 100' away from fish hatchery and I would keep that distance from sore as you work the lake. If you try bait work around the pilings on the east side.

I highly recommend a dipsy diver with a willow leaf and a medium sized green scale spin-n-glo with red top and white wings trailing behind and tipped with krill.. The bows just hammer it.

Actually the diver I used is called Deep Six.  This is what it looks like:

it get the lure down to where the fish are.

Next I tie a Gibbs Nickel Willow Leaf Gang Trolling Lure about 12" behind the diver it looks like this

Next I tie a Metallic Silver Green Pirate spin-n-glo about 24-36" behind that they look like this (choose the color from the drop down list)

Then I put a piece of krill on the hook.

try trolling some woolly bugger fly's in green , black, or brown, on a heavy full sink line. When you hook a trout up, it will actually be able to fight
without 14 pounds of steel in it's mouth!
