I don't flyfishing for pink salmon at Garry Point Park, or do much flyfishing for pink salmon actually. The only area where you can flyfishing for pink salmon are the rocky shores in the park that access the main channel of the river. Since you are standing on the rocks, you'd need to constantly watch behind you to make sure you do not hit anyone with your backcast. For that reason alone, I don't flyfish there especially during peak season when many other people are doing the same thing. The only flyfishing that I do at Garry Point Park are in the bays where I can wade out, targeting bull trout and cutthroat trout. This way I have plenty of backcasting room unless dogs jump into the water behind me. Definitely gotta do whatever possible to avoid hooking someone with the backcast. One incident may see the park shut out for anglers as the City of Richmond is always very concerned about liability.
A better place for flyfishing is the Dump Bar behind Triangle Road where you can wade out a bit from the beach.
Water clarity is very good now. Visibility is plenty for flyfishing.
