Launching a boat near vedder mouth
« on: August 30, 2009, 01:42:18 PM »

Was just wondering if and where the best/closest place to launch a cartopper would be near the mouth of the vedder river.  Thanks...

Barrowtown pump station. It's shallow where the Vedder meets the Sumas but it the closest unless you want to come down the Fraser from Old Orchard rd or over from Dewdney.

Hardly any water at low tide right now.  At the convergence of the Sumas and Vedder their is less than a foot of water at low tide. >:(

I've launched there a lot and haven't seen any broken glass this year (knock on wood). Some guys park on the road so they are a little more out in the open.

Upstream by the powerhouse-- accessed on the old (bypassed part) section of the freeway -west of the 401 bridge-- Cheers
