I checked out No. 3 Road after work. No fish. I was just in my t-shirt and shorts. I had to leave by six because it got so cold. I guess summer is almost over. Anyways, I went over to Canadian Tire at Ironwood to buy some fishing line. While I was there, there were two guys shopping for fishing rods. Not much of a selection. A young clerk was helping them. One guy was keen on buying the biggest rod available. It was a mooching rod/reel combo. I overheard him saying that he wanted a big rod so he could catch a 30 pounder. He sent the clerk off to check the computer to see if the rod/reel were on sale. I then asked him if he had a boat. He said no. I then asked him where he planned to fish with that rod and he said off the dock at Steveston. I then told him that he was buying the wrong type of rod. They both had heard about the pink run and wanted to buy rods and reels to try and catch some. I told them they would be better off buying a spinning rod/reel. The only ones left were some six footers. They then asked me if they should be buying 20 pound line. I told them it was overkill. After talking a bit more, I suggested they go over to Berry's to get a better selection.
