Hi everyone,

Im new here although i have been lurking on and off for a few years.

im more into hunting than fishing but would like to get out a bit more fishing with my dad.

I was at Central park today with my wife and we walked passed one of the big ponds maybe it is called Golden pond??

There were tons of huge carp cruising around there, not the Koi carp but big carp similar to what we would fish for in England.

Anyone know if it is permitted to fish in these ponds or not?  If so I think my father would love it and so would i as it is only up the street from my house.

Thanks for any info, i have been searching the internet since we got home but have had no success.

No, you are not permitted to fish in the ponds. If you want some carp action go to Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam. Lots of big carp.

Do you know the reason you are not permitted to fish there?

How did you find that information out?, so that in the future I could try to find it myself if i come up with another question of similar nature.

Deer Lake in Burnaby has big carp also.

I found out that that pound was not fishable simply by asking a park ranger. And I do not know why it is not fishable.
