Most on this forum know how enjoy the fishing can be on the Chilliwack River almost year round, from fall salmon to winter steelhead. Most have also noticed the ongoing litter problem, which this heavy usage has generated over the years. On Sunday September 27th, you can do something about it to make this a good start of another enjoyable fall salmon fishing season on the Chilliwack River.
Sunday September 27th is BC Rivers Day and the Chilliwack Vedder River Cleanup Coalition will once again be hosting its annual celebration at the Chilliwack Fish and Game Club. The celebration will include a river cleanup from 9am until noon, followed by a thank you BBQ for volunteers, draw prizes and entertainment. This event is only possible with the support of Lower Mainland anglers, who make up the biggest user group of this watershed.
Come on out, fish for salmon in the first few hours at sunrise, when fishing is usually good, then come out to the event and help us to make the river cleaner. You can then enjoy a free BBQ, talk to other Vedder anglers and swap tips before heading back out to the river for the last light bite.
Those who attend from the forum, will receive a free annual FWR subscription that gets you instant access to the fishing report section, personal messaging function and access to video diaries. Here is the event detail.
