Do you need waders. I have a 13 yr old and I want to keep him away from the river flow for safety but wish to participate.
Do you have to register or just clean an area and show up at 12:00?

Is the parking at the Fish and Game Club safe for us to attend and leave our rods in our vehicle?

Yes the parking lot is quite safe. In the past, we have also set up a safe area for people to leave their rods at the registration. I'm not sure if we are doing that this year, Chris would be able to tell more.

Good to see so much interest! It should be an excellent day. :)

Hey Rod - for sure there can be a spot put aside for participants fishing gear!  Good idea.

Ok, Dave just volunteered to look after all the rods. ;D

I will be there.  As this will be my first time for the clean up I was wondering if everyone is given a section of the river to clean or do you pick your own section?

I forgot to answer this earlier. Participants are assigned to a section of the river for the cleanup, but you're also welcome to tell the directors where you wish to go to. We'd like to assign strong individuals to sections with difficult terrains and individuals with pickup trucks to areas that have large amount of garbage.

For others who are fishing the Vedder on the 27th but don't plan to come, please also carry a plastic bag and fill it during your fishing breaks so you are part of this year's Rivers Day celebration. The Chilliwack River can only be cleaned up if all anglers chip in. :)

I plan to be there on Sunday. It will be the first time I attend (luckily, only because my Sunday game is cancelled). DO we need to bring any special equipm./clothes? Rubber boots, gloves, our own garbage bags I presume, and so on? Thanks, look forward to meet many of you there.

You should bring appropriate clothings and footwears. If you show up with just normal shoes, you'll most likely just be assigned to an easy section like the Rotary trail. If you show up with rubber boots or waders, you'll most likely be sent to areas where some wading is required. Garbage bags will be provided. Some pickup tools will be provided. Rubber gloves are available, but feel free to bring your own working gloves too. :)

I plan to attend the clean-up by myself. I'd be interested to walk the banks and clean up with a partner, preferably an experienced Vedder angler :-) -- maybe I can use this outing as an educational opportunity as well, to learn more about fishing on this river... I live quite far from the Vedder area, so I fish it only a few times a year. If anyone is willing to partner up, it'll be a pleasure. Many thanks, see you Sunday a.m.!

I clicked that I would be attending as I totally expected to be able to do so. Being a business owner though sometimes things come up that you cant avoid. I have some business matters to take care of on Sunday. Sorry :(

I will be giving away experienced floats this year once again at the CVRCC booth, many to pick through. ;D Not sure if there will be a Maple Leaf Drennan near the bottom of the box, a place the Leafs will not be near this year as we are off to the best start in years, in exhibition play that is. ;D ;D
