fished at my second favourite spot tonight from 5pm - 7pm after work.  There were lots jumping, but no takers.  I was using the same lures that I'd been having lots of success with the last few days, but not even one hit for almost 2 hours.  So, I decided to try something completely different just before I decided to pack it up and call it a day.  I casted 3 times with this homemade gold hammered spoon with green tape on the inside of the spoon, and no takers.  So I started to take my rod apart, and then I saw one jump just a bit upstream from where I was casting, and I thought I should give it one more cast right around where this fish just surfaced.  First cast and sure enough I got a good hit, and fish on!  After a good battle I managed to land him right around 7pm, after almost 2 hours of fishing, and then I had to make it home for supper.  It really did make a difference to switch to something completely different tonight because they were not into anything pink (spoons, spinners, jigs, hoochies), and that's all I was trying.  I learn something new every time I go fishing and I'm having the time of my life!

Was out from 6:00 to 8:00pm last night.

A guy nearby got lots of action and landed 3 in about 45 minutes around 7:00.

Someone said he also hooked a sturgeon, which I find hard to believe.
They said it seemed like he was snagged but it moved around a bit - wouldn't come off the bottom, though.

I guess it possible as there are a few sturgeon moving around in that area at that time of night but I think it was a big spring.

had to search for em but we found a few near maple Ridge last night, some nice pinks to take home.
while anchored close to shore in 26 ft I was casting from the bow and a maybe 6' or bigger sturgeon slowly swam past right off the anchor rope just below the surface, surprising me greatly.
I started yelling and pointing, buddy stops reeling, turns to look and wham hes got fish on

I was out in the #3 and #5 road areas yesterday afternoon from 3:30 to 6:00, saw two fish surface the entire time and they were far out of casting reach...
saw quite a few other fishermen and no fish on... no fish for me ... I guess its all about timing.. my timing is bad , five trips out in the lower Fraser and I am still waiting to see even one person with a fish on... was nice to be out none the less

I have certainly found size can make a difference because I have found myself catching when no one else was just be using something smaller.  Of course, it could just be dumb luck.  I haven't tried green on the Fraser yet but it's worth a go [Switching up to flourescent green on the Campbell River system made a big difference one day I was there].  In spite of all that I sometimes I wonder if it isn't just luck and timing - so much to learn still.

Yeah that was pretty funny.
Still pinks to be had,but you have to go hunting for them.
Cruising the shorelines in the boat till you find them has been working.
Although we did travel a few miles in the rain.
Still thinking we got another week of hunting.
I'll be out again soon.

I fished the tidal Fraser and there was a big push of fresh pinks that arrived around 10am
But the bite was on and off
i landed (released in the water) about 20 pinks and lost quite a few
I changed up from a small buzz bomd\ small zinger to a pink\silver lure each time the bite went off and they would hit the change of lure
I wish i had took my fly rod as there were so many fish in close it would have been fun
Will be out again Monday with the fly rod
