salmon sashimi?

Has anyone tried to eat salmon raw? I'm from Korea, and back home, when we would catch fish, we eat almost all the fish raw sometimes, but i wonder if that's a safe thing to do with salmon? or.. if its even tasty

i feel like i've had salmon sashimi, but for some reason i just can't recall.... :-\
