Anyone know of a good place to shop for a pram in the lower mainland. I seem to remember a plastics company in Langley/Abbostford who would make one-off's?  I've looked for used ones on craigslist etc but was wondering if anyone is aware of a dealer?

What are you looking for? Wood, fiberglass, or aluminum?

I'm not entirely sure but could safely rule out wood. Either fiberglass or aluminum.

What are you looking to spend? I own a Spratley and have so for the past two years. As far as I am concerned its the best in class. Its pricey though but built to last a lifetime. They are a local company. Just remember they are a welded boat so thats the reason for its high price.

you could also look for local dealers that sell LOWE flat bottom boats. well built and cheaper then spratleys. I wouldnt rule out the wood though cause they can be very light and easy to move alone without a trailer for them

Heavy but simply installing a transom wheel solves that problem. Dont need a trailer for the Spratley, I can throw it in the back of my truck bed with ease. Thats the nice thing about being strong   I wouldnt want a lowe for any amount of savings. They have absolutely no freeboard. The only other boat I like out there is the Harbercraft Flyfisher but they dont make them anymore.

They can be purchased through Searun Fly & Tackle in Coquitlam, as well as TNT Marine in Abbotsford. I think their are a few other local distributors as well. After taxes for the base model 10 footer is about $2000

I have a Lowe 12' (wide) and very satisfied with it. Yes, it has a lower freeboard than the Spratley but it is not inadequate. I've never had a problem. Handles two adults with ease and, because of its lower freeboard, handles better in windy conditions than the Spratley. Like the Spratley, the Lowe is fairly heavy. Paid $925 for it three years ago from Cascade in Chilliwack.

Terry have you been in a Spratley? I have been in both and IMO the Spratley handles much better in the wind. I agree both are heavy the Spratley being a bit heavier but not by much.

If I didnt already have the Spratley I would pick that Flyfisher up.

As Bryan has already stated. The spratley is a great boat. Its extremely stable and well built. It is heavier than most but I am able to lift it onto my truck on my own. I like the boat so much Im tempted to buy another one.
