Stave River, October 26th 2009

I got a few hours of casting in this afternoon. I got into about 7 or 8 fish. All but two I got in the lips. I was looking for some smokers today but all were a little on the dark side. A couple I guess I could have kept but I have tomorrow to try again for a cleaner fish. All with home tied jigs.

If you are fishing with a jig and only got 2 out of 8 to bite, you might be doing something wrong.

For the record, if you snag a fish it doesn't count towards your total for the day, unless you're a flosser.

I fished the stave a while back, and can testify that those fish attack green wool with their tails... I must have seen about 85% "tail attacks" and about 10% headbutts )(or close-enough's as I heard them called).  Those are truely mean dogs.
