Just cured up a batch of roe, this time for steelhead.  Been playing around with new recipes trying to get the perfect roe.  This is my best to date.  The skein seems to be much tougher than Procured roe, while the eggs stay more supple.  I like it.  Its anise-scented instead of that terrible cure-in-a-can smell.

This after 5 minutes of being washed around the sink in warm water to test durability.  Procure lost 50% of its eggs, this new recipe lost maybe 2 eggs off a 20 egg cluster and the skein stayed tough.

Deadly work on those berries, Mr. J!

PS - I still have your camping chair.  You gonna be in the big smoke at all over the next few weeks?  We should catch up!

Is fishfinder useful for steelhead searching on vedder river? I see on website it can search 180 meters deep but not sure how wide area it can cover?

This is a lower priced one.  Is it doable we use this to search for steelhead when walking along the river bank?
