Squamish River, November 15th 2009
« on: November 16, 2009, 12:42:04 PM »

Fished the main river 15min walk above then 15 min walk below fishermans park Sunday morning. The only fish I seen brought to shore were foul hooked..looked like they were released. I never had a touch..the jigs that worked so well didn't suit the shallow water...regretted not taking the fly rod as the main river seems better suited for that and the fish where travelling in shallow water.

Surprisingly pretty slow as well for me yesterday. Hooked a few up above fishemans park then move to another spot that is usually loaded with fish and got into 5 or 6 but not enough to keep us warm in pissing down rain. Alot of the fish that were around in the lower stretches appeared to have moved. Wait for the next influx after all this rain I guess. :-\ :-\

A few of the fish looked pretty clean but I did see any up close....except for the beat up ones in the shallows.

Fish water over knee deep with good flow. The cosmonauts were out on Sunday lining spawning fish on in the shallows. I did confront one of them that were using the rip method and with no confrontation he at least switched to using a float. I was fishing a bit deeper water and had some hookups on decent fish. There are decent fish around for sure just not as many as last week.  By the way for those that are thinking of making the trip up there the water is around the 4 meter mark and will be completely unfishable. for at least a few days. Freezing levels have to come back down and the rain has to let up at least a bit.

It can be fishable at three if it is cold up high but around 2.5 and down is better usually. This year has been really different with the slides that have occured as the river can blow out quite quickly.
