I just moved so.....

I sit here with my backroads mapbook, look at all the creek names and type them into a fish distribution database. Then I mark em down on google earth and write up driections on how to get there and go exploring on weekends ;D I also write up places of interest on the flows in case fishing is slow (ie waterfalls, bridges, canyons, etc).
I have also been tying up lots of coho and cutty patterns (flesh and eggs patterns as well as minnow patterns) to keep me preoccupied while Im waiting to go try them out on the cutties and bows out here.

Other than that my boring weekends lately have consisted of fishing a little bit on my fav river out here (only achieving 1 coho and 3 cutties in the last 4 trips but I guess thats better than nothing) and checking out a suspension bridge, 2 waterfalls and a couple smaller creeks and stocked lakes close to home for when I get REALLY bored and need a quick fix. Also did a little bit of hiking for a few hours just scouting out more of a river and takin pics for steely season.

Have just got into tying flies and is very easy to spend two hours making a mess and hopefully end up with a fly or two at the end.
I also like to play guitar.
Golf is also a regular thing but with this rain it wont be happening.
Nothing really changes much around here.
Rain or no rain.

I spend a lot of time on fish wizard. Take notes of different creeks and rivers, check the topography, types of species, length and size, and from there decide if they are worth exploring.

I've found many great out of the way creeks where I never see another soul and have great fishing all to myself with the help of that site. On the flip side, I also get skunked a lot.

Its obvious that we all share the passion for fishing. What do you do when rivers are blown? What are your other hobbies?

For me its all about fitness ( but most know that already ) I will be in the gym for 2-3 hours. I also enjoy a good hike and running.

For me, its Fly Tying first off, then Ball Hockey. I use to play mens Ball Hockey (15 years) but due to 4 knee surgeries I can't play anymore. Because of this I have been coaching kids for 6 years now and LOVE it. I am the Incoming President of Surrey Minor Ball Hockey for kids 5-19 and we have 700+ kids, and I have a BLAST with it.

And when there is no rain, GOLF, GOLF, GOLF

Getting caught up on all my house work that I've been putting off for the last two months  :-\

I finally gave my smoker a top to bottom cleaning for the first time...well.....ever.

Although, with the lack of rain all day today, I may very well be back out on the river by tomorrow.  ;D

Outside of fishing, I like to hike, camp, check out out of the way places in my truck, generally be outside.  Enjoy cooking too, specifically BBQing.  I've dabbled in welding and built some stuff for my truck.  Woodworking if I have something useful to build.  Started making a wooden boat a bunch of years ago, but it never really went anywhere once my summers filled up with work, girlfriends, road trips.  Other than that, work and uni take up most of my time.

If the rivers are blown then I'll either head up to Whistler to mark down a couple days on the seasons pass or I just take it easy and watch tv and play video games.
