DeBoville Slough
« on: December 04, 2009, 09:05:13 PM »

are you allowed to fish this slough in port coquitlam? and if so, has anyone ever caught anything in there? i was walking along there a little while back in october (before the salmon) and noticed a few small pools that looked like they may hold some cutties. thanks for any tips in advance. :)

I'd check the regs. Use to live right beside there and spin fishing for Cutts and Dollies was OK when they were around. Nice spots up by the marina to the mouth

I used to fish it a lot when I was a young whipper-snapper... Lots of little trout, and northern pike minnows near the marina back then... Further up the slough there is not many good spots for fish to hold, or much feed (similar to many waters in the lower mainland) and thus never caught much in the further up spots.

Lots of river otters back then too, and some times you could see turtles... for cutties, salmon etc, Allouette is a better bet.

Haven't fished there in years, but use to ride my bike up the north side to fish. The tide has a big affect on that area so plan acordingly. Upper part can be high and dry because of the tide changes and water levels. Always wore my gumboots though. :)
