Christmas Shopping
« on: December 19, 2009, 08:35:20 PM »

Busiest weekend of the year. Man, the malls were packed. Hope everyone has finished their shopping. If not, there are only 5 more days left. Anyone know where I can buy a 25 lb. turkey ?

Tried there but the biggest they had was only 20 lbs. Have 18 Canuck fans coming for dinner on Christmas Eve.

used to be a turkey farm in Pitt Meadows that would let you catch and kill your own bird if you chose to  ;D not sure if its still around though but a farm or butcher is a good spot to look

I don't know how close you are to the border, but I have previously found it a lot easier to find large (close to 30lb) turkeys south of the border. Like I said depending how close you are, a drive to bellingham should probably get you what you are looking for as well as for nearly half the price.

The company I worked for used to get us free turkeys as part of our xmas bonus every year.  They were always around 25lb and I'm pretty sure they came from Davis Meats in Abbotsford.  Maybe give them a call.

Thanks guys for some excellent advice. After much searching I got my hands on a 25 lber. I like the idea of crossing the border and buy it from there. When I used to work in Abbotsford, we would head over to Sumas during our lunch and buy our turkeys. Waay cheaper over there.
