Apologies for the volume, but thought I would just do one big post of my favourites from Winter 2010. Please note that, for my purposes, winter includes the month of April.
Small fish, but I just liked the 5 minutes of sun that came out that day. Twisted Metal, Squamish River - late January.
Favourite rainbow on the Squamish. Nose to fork: 19 inches. Spectacular fight. Twisted Metal, Squamish River - early Feb.
Decent dolly tricked by my favourite egg. Around 24, Squamish River - late Feb.
Fun bull trout. This was an awesome day. Lots of bulls, nothing under 21 inches the whole day. Unfortunately, this guy took it through the front left edge of the tongue and bled a little. 30-ish mark, Squamish River - late Feb.
Another fun bull. This one was memorable for the multiple runs it took. Squamish River - late Feb.
Another pulse of big bulls. Squamish River - early March.
Can you see the sea lice? Super chromes. Queets River, Olympic National Park, Washington. Late March.
SRC. Beaches of Howe Sound and Porpoise Bay. Late March, early April.
And in tribute to the great run of weather conditions that kept the Squamish low and clear in early May:
Coho fingerlings (I think... lousy with fry identification) caught in a small puddle in the middle of a dry flood channel. Squamish River.
Lots of rainbows out today. All nice sizes for the Squamish. Poor little salmon fry...
Just a sweet day with cooperative trout. Squamish River.
