The stocked trout that can't tell it's story
« on: January 06, 2010, 06:53:20 PM »

The dog found one of those large trout stocked in Green Timbers lying in the grass. Can't help but wonder how it got there. Was just north of the fishing platform. Nother good reason for a one fish limit at this lake as it doesn't look like a bird took it into the grass.

Depending on the weather, it can be frozen. 2 weeks back it was, but as of a few days back it was open.

I talked to a guy that was fishing there a few days ago and he told me he was ice fishing on the lake recently.

I was ice fishing on rice lake Christmas day for a few hours in the afternoon. You had to punch a hole through the ice right in front of the wharf as it was not quite thick enough to venture out.

Ice fishing can be done at a lake if there is not a specified no ice fishing regulation or if there is not a seasonal fishing closure. In the Lower Mainland, best to be extra cautious if you decide to step on a frozen lake. Most of the time it is too thin.
