Ive got a trip planned of the upper pitt river in october for coho.
Ive seen pictures of the river and read reviews for the pitt river lodge web site.
Just wondering how the coho fishing compares to the vedder/chehalis.
from what i hear, its just amazing, anyone fished the upper in october?

Been up there many times in October,fantastic fishing for Coho's Bully's Dolly's and rainbows.We have caught some big Coho up there (Northerns) up to 17lbs all CR,on the fly and hardware ( Iron Heads are killer) Popsicle marabou flys for chuckers. Be sure to monitor the weather before you go as it can blow out pretty fast.We had to evacuate one year due to heavy rain and flooding,weather stacks up in that valley and can result in some of the heaviest rainfalls i have ever seen.Fantastic river to fish,one of the best in the province or the world for that matter.

yah, half of the system is tidal, just like stave river

Upper Pitt is not tidal at all,no comparison to the Stave, like night and day!.the pitt is a " real,wild" river.pristine and beautiful.

A few buddies and I are going to the Upper Pitt in a month and a half, I plan on targeting bulls and was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for fly patterns and colors?
