This is just too bad.... I drive by this place very often and am amazazed by the this system could have sustained this long in such a developed, urbanized area..........

While I agree that elevating the level of public education can help to prevent future situations such as this, unfortunately there are always going to be people who just don't care enough about the repercussions of their actions to be responsible.  This is yet another sad reflection of humanity's general lack of respect for any other living creature.

That's a shame..I walk my dog down there often...they've obviously put a lot of work into trying to revitalize the fish and wildlife habitat, hate to see it set back like this.
