Ice Off
« on: March 19, 2010, 08:36:19 AM »

I heard last year that people were fishing Tunkwa towards the end of April.  I would like to fish Marquart lake, but if Tunkwa comes off at the same time I'd like to try that lake.  Any suggestions?  Which lakes come off first?

Tunkwa, Leighton, Marquart, Lundbum, Kidd, Courtney, Corbett lakes are all about the same elevation so they should all be off at or mithin days of each other  ;D

keep an eye on the Tunkwa lake webcam to watch the ice vanish.

One of those lakes almost always ices off first( Probably because of the wind) but if I say which one there won't be room for me at ice-off! :o ;D

Like others have suggested; keep an eye on the web cam at Tunkwa and you can make a better informed decision when the time is right.

It does appear as if it has just neginning to start thawing right tight to the shoreline... http://www.tunkwalakeresort.com/webcam.php
