Anybody missing a van?
« on: April 03, 2010, 09:40:02 PM »

Some lowlifes stole and burnt a van ( I think it is a Chrysler, but could be anything) and left it in the middle of the trail to the run formerly known as Ranger. Lots of garbage in the area - disgusting!  >:(

Here's the picture:

Not sure what the procedure is here. Should I report it to the Chilliwack police?  ???

We have our first river cleanup on April 17th so we will be dealing with the garbage. It would not be a bad idea to phone the Chillwack RCMP at 792- 4611. Sometime there is a problem hauling them out as sometimes ICBC will not pay for the towing if it can not identify the owner of the car and the RCMP say they donot have the funds to pay for it.

In the past because of this I have had a hassle getting them removed along the river but give it a try Milo.

Well, I placed a call with the Chilliwack RCMP and reported the van. I told them it was on the trail that leads to the  Ranger Run, which is very close to Borden creek. That's the best I could do in terms of directions. They have officers who fish and know the area pretty well, so they'll figure it out.

Hopefully, they will be able to remove it and put back those huge boulders in place so people stop driving all the way to the river and making a mess.

Sad state of affairs...more barricades restricting access to areas enjoyed by responsible people. Good example of a few rotten apples ruining things for the rest. Really too bad!
