Hi Chris,

I am looking for further information regarding this Derby, specifically about sponsorship. Can you please PM me with a contact name and phone number to discuss further as I am having a hard time finding further information about this year’s derby.

Hi Steve, for sponsorship enquiries for the pikeminnow derby, send an email to Evelyn Kwak at evelynkwak@shaw.ca.

If they already have enough sponsorship, I'd be happy to accept some for our event in July http://www.fishingwithrod.com/fftf ;D

Worms, hot dogs, bread dough and small spoons.

Also best to take a boat if you have one but there will be guide boats to take people out for short trips.

Of course there is docks to fish from but last year the fishing was slow from them.

Very good, lots of prizes again this year. A reminder that 75% of draw prizes are for tickets bought before the day of the derby. Tickets at Fred's Custom Tackle, Chilliwack Dart and Tackle and Rosedale Mini Mart. Entry $5 adults and $2 under 16.

Here is a video clip of the derby in 2007 for those who have never been, so you have a better idea on what type of fishing is available.

Chris failed to mention that Nina was about to clean up the pikeminnow population at the public dock last week until he and I lost her magic lure. ::) :-\

Frank, Nick and I went out to Cultus Lake today and tagged more Pikeminnows for the derby, there now is a total of 75 of them swimming around the lake with tags.  Anyone catching one of these numbered tagged PM's on derby day will win $100. We will be tagging another 25 before the derby.

It was nice day on the lake except for a late afternoon rain showere and of course Nick out fished us on the pikeminnows as well he picked up 2 nice cutthroat. Certainly a fishery that is over looked on this lake.

The seine boat that has a contract with the Salmon Round Table to remove pikeminnows was catching a good number today as well.

Hey Chris, nice to see you out there today  ;D
Glad you guys got a few... we caught one of the tagged ones in the net too as well.
Ended up getting 1500 in 2 sets... man was I ever busy for a while  :o

And as for trout...
There are a heck of a lot of them at the far end of the lake.. we got 33 in one net set, and seem to get a few in most sets. All are of pretty good size too.
