A stake in the heart of the Liiberals?

http://www.theprovince.com/news/Finally+truth+behind+Rail+deal/3036138/story.html

We all know that the ethical strength of a party or most organizations flows downhill from the leadership.

If British Colombians can accept a convicted drunk driver as the top man in the province, you really think the apathetic public gives 2 cents about fiscal corruption lol.  We don't vote people into power in this country; we vote them out.

And the standard of behavior (fiscal or moral) they need to fail at in order to be voted out gets worse and worse as society gets crappier and crappier.

"The Crown alleges David Basi and Virk leaked sensitive documents to one of the bidders in the sale, and took money and benefits in return."

Is "one of the bidders" also facing charges of bribery of government officials? Is this a one-sided pursuit of justice?
Who are "the people" who buy government property with inside information that has been "bought" from government officials?
If I bribed a police officer or a judge, who would be going to trial first?
I would think it would be me. Well I'm sure that second party to privileged, inside information will surface in this trial and then perhaps the pursuit of justice will go onward, otherwise it will be "just ice".....chilled...and then I will assume that this is an expected way of doing business in this crooked world

Pretty impressive that the campaign has reached significant targets - so does this mean in theory Campbell can be re-called? He'd have to run again in his riding? All the libs?

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/british-columbia/bc-anti-hst-campaign-reaches-target-in-72-ridings/article1572337/

Quote
Mr. Vander Zalm made the comments as he and his organizers announced they had accumulated 500,000 signatures spread out so that they have reached a necessary 10-per-cent-of-voters threshold in 72 of 85 provincial ridings. That total is in place with seven weeks to go in the campaign.

Under B.C.’s Recall and Initiative Act, a petition that meets the 10-per-cent target in all ridings would compel the provincial government to either hold a non-binding referendum on the HST or present legislation repealing the tax

I smell something - seems to be Danish and it's spoiled......

Quotes from yesterdays cross examination of Martyn Brown, Gordo's head henchman:

"Are you aware CN Rail gave approximately $269,000 over the last nine years?" the lawyer asked.

"I wasn't aware until now," Brown replied. "I have nothing to do with fundraising."

The witness said he was unaware that CN Rail donated $113,000 to the BC Liberals between 1994 and 2004, and another $155,907.50 between 2005 and 2009.

McCullough pointed out that CN Rail's chairman, David McLean, was the chief fundraiser of Campbell's 1996 election campaign.

"It was not at all a factor in the consideration," Brown said of the process that led to CN Rail being announced as the winning bidder of BC Rail in 2003. The $1-billion deal was finalized the following July.

Lets just go fishing and enjoy the time in the outdoors. They are going to do what they want anyway. I would never vote for them or the cons. Thank goodness we have unions or we would all be working for a quarter and a kick in the butt.

Yes it is certainly time to get fishing and enjoy our lakes, the ocean, our rivers and streams.

Saying that the public has to remain vigilant on this and environmental issues or things can and would be worse.

A couple of links that should raise concern for AF and Cameront120 - Your boys are in a slide.

http://www.mustelgroup.com/pdf/20100520.pdf

And look at those fancy dance steps by the "deception by mind change" group. You reap what you sow and Campbell is going down the toilet.

News flash for you Novabonker, being in favor of the HST doesn't mean that one isn't dismayed by the actions of this government.  They are two separate issues.   You know what they say about people who assume, right?

Um Let's review....
Can you guess who posted these?

It doesn't matter who leads the NDP, they're too entrenched with the unions to be an option for many of the electorate.
(And Campbell's in bed with business)

I'm more concerned by a bunch of people listening to the zalm.

(So we should listen to the honesty of the Liberals? When do they start being honest?)

I'll take him over the NDP any day.  I remember the 90's and have no faith in the NDP.

(That was in reference to Campbell-  you know, the guy who absolutely wouldn't sell BC Rail, wouldn't tear up contracts, HST not on the radar, legislate balanced budgets, and on and on...mostly "deception by mind change")

Your reading comprehension could use a little work.  You missed the part where I said I was dismayed.

Weren't you the same person complaining about schoolyard name calling? So cheap shots are OK ?

I merely made an observation based upon your reply to my post.  That's hardly name-calling.  But if you interpreted it as such, I apologize.

In any circumstance- we disagree. The Campbell Liberals are now and have been deceptive, arrogant and in the pocket of anyone who donated to them. They're gone soon, after they ignore the HST initiative and recall starts. I'm pretty sure you'll discount that happening, but just wait- it will. They will go down as one of the most corrupt governments in recent history and nothing more than thugs in suits. Personally,I'm proud to see the citizens standing up for themselves and not buying into the bullspit that flows from the PAB. Watch and see what comes out of the Basi Virk trial. There's going to be some serious "contradictions" between what the Liberals said and reality. Kevin McCullogh is setting up some things that will prove that the offices and staff of Campbell Inc. are as rotten as a four day old fish sitting in the sun- from the top on down.
BTW- I am quite passionate about HONEST people doing a job that they're sent to parliament for, not serving the financial backers who shot them some money for an agenda or the whims of a dictator that lies as easily as we breathe. Take a few moments and look at the money that came to the Campbellites and look at the legislation they force through. If anyone can't follow the trail of slime, then they just aren't looking. That's the crux of my points - our present government is hanging a "For Sale" sign on everything , including morals, of which they seem to have tossed in the dustbin. Turning up the heat in any way I can is he right thing to do when a government refuses to listen to the electorate.

For your dining and dancing pleasure! ;)
