Camping - Campbell River
« on: July 07, 2010, 06:08:53 PM »

I will be going to Campbell River in the 3rd week of September.

I will be in a RV with my Wife and 2 very young children. I am looking for suggestions for campsites.

Provincial (Elk Falls) vs. Private etc.....

Any suggestions?

Thanks,  John

Elk Falls is really nice. Close to town , a stone toss to the Campbell river and right beside the Quinsam River. Nice park for the kids and trails up and down the river.

Oh and only about 3 mins to River Sportsman Outdoor Store with everything you could ever need for your fishing/Camping adventures.

I stay at miracle beach it is about 1/2 hour from campbell river.
Provincial campsite lots of stuff for the kids a great sandy beach at low tide that goes for ever..Lots of tidal pools and you never have to worry about the kids getting in over their heads, they would have to be like 100 yards out to get 3 feet of water..

Elk falls is good too for fishing, but miracle beach has showers and flush toilets, and playground and lots of other kids. the only thing is you would have to drive to go fishing from Miricle beach, elk fall you can walk to the river..

good luck.
