G Loomis replacement
« on: August 11, 2010, 05:25:37 PM »

Hello,

Does anyone know a local shop that might have GLoomis SAR1362C rod tip section in stock for warranty replacement?  Or I'll have to wait for the entire shipping process?

Thank you

Have you tried calling the local shops?  Loomis used to have a expedited service which meant you could have a new rod in your hands for about 75 dollars in just a couple days IF the rod was in stock.  When I used the service in was not in stock (for a loomis spey rod), still costed 75 dollars but in 6 weeks, I had a brand new rod.  I dont see this option on the Loomis warranty page but it wouldnt hurt to call them and see what your options are.

How did the rod break if you dont mind me asking?

You can try berry's, i bought my loomis from there.  Your other option could be go through the warranty with Gloomis.

Yah I used to get my fishing stuff from Berry's but since moving to Maple Ridge it would mean over 1 hour of driving. :-\

The golden ears bridge is a major time saver.  Might even be worth it to head out there as Gloomis is a pricey rod.  Fred's might be able to warranty it for you as well
